We have played Functions, Night Clubs, Jazz Clubs, Village Halls, Cafe-Bars, Private homes, Gardens, Restaurants and even a Beach!  We also livestream (except in the Summer months) from our own studio. Here are just a few of the kind things that have been said about us recently:

Clifford and Francesca made my 70th birthday party a night to remember. Professional and organised in set up and preparation and then creative, sensitive and fun in creating the atmosphere and responding to the room and the guests. These were just a few of the views of audience members after they played two cracking hour-long sets at the Courthouse on a rainy Friday evening in November. The duo of Cliff and Francesca explored musical areas which were beyond the strict definition of “jazz” but the sell-out audience generously showed their appreciation.

The songs ranged from jazz standards by Billie Holliday, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin to covers of more recent material – Amy Winehouse, Madeleine Peyroux, even Adele! The first set was more “jazzy” and the second stretched the boundaries through careful use of Cliff’s sampling box of tricks with some soul, r n b and reggae.

Throughout the evening Francesca bewitched the audience with her pitch perfect singing, Cliff connected with the audience by giving background on the songs and how they had approached their versions – and played magical sax and flute. It was obvious how much effort had been put into the evening not only from the resulting music but in the communication that we had with Cliff before the gig.

After a visit to the Courthouse in the summer, Cliff knew what the intimate venue could provide – and loved the sound in the room that he could get from his sax! Cliff gave us publicity material in good time for us to to get the word out and it paid off with the gig selling out two weeks before the night.

We couldn’t have been more happy to have had them entertain us and they have certainly set the bar high for future Courthouse music nights - we’ve already been in touch to book them for a return gig – can’t wait!
